Low Maidendale Farm

Other Animals

We keep a small flock of sheep, primarily to keep the grass in good condition as horses and ponies are very wasteful grazers.   Our current flock are commercial cross-breeds.

Eggs – and a great deal of amusement - were supplied by our hens and ducks.  Unfortunately, fox activity around the farm has lost us all of our ducks and the laying hens.   We bought a couple more pullets in the summer, but they are well past point of lay age now and haven't produced anything at all!

Skye

is the blonde German Shepherd

Bonny Dundee:  labrador

If Dee tried to be a gun-dog, he would only embarrass himself;  luckily, he has never had aspirations to be anything other than a hearthrug.

Persia

Chocolate tortoiseshell point Siamese and destroyer of all wildlife in a wide radius of home

Ming

Tiny black and white yard cat whose hobby is to loathe and fight with Persia.   If Ming sees a rat, she will pretend she hasn't and resolutely look in the other direction.   Still, most of them are bigger than her!
